Maintenance Supervisor

MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

The Maintenance Supervisor operates a continuous improvement maintenance program based upon equipment cost control and reliable machinery that supports Food Safety, Personal Safety, Product Quality, Production goals, and Cost Reduction. Responsibilities include staffing, MHE equipment and refrigeration systems and facilities.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES PREFERRED

  • Material Handling Equipment maintenance and use related to racking storage systems, including the MHE mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Commercial warehouse/building maintenance related to racking storage systems, plumbing, mechanical, electrical and related systems.
  • HVAC and ammonia refrigeration systems, maintenance, operations, and B52 regulations.
  • Hire and train maintenance staff; establish department objectives, policies, procedures, performance standards, and staff schedules.
  • Staff and schedule department to minimize overtime and maximize efficiencies.
  • Oversee a Preventative Maintenance Program that encompasses all MHE equipment, utilities, and facilities are maintained in a like-new state.
  • Maintain a Predictive Maintenance Program.
  • Performs all repair and adjustment of refrigeration system, doors, dock boards, pallet racks, sweepers, sprinkler systems, forklifts, pallet trucks, and electrical work.
  • Inspects forklifts, pallet jacks, and other operating equipment to ensure compliance with operational standards.
  • Oversee maintenance parts purchasing and inventory control system.
  • Evaluate physical, mechanical, and utility components of building structure. Coordinate facility structural repair.
  • Test, maintain, and evaluate equipment performance using instruments such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, pyrometers, and pressure gauges. Test and calibrate HVAC equipment.
  • Inspects completed work for compliance to specifications, and safety standards.
  • Troubleshoots equipment and recommends corrective action.
  • Keep up with all government regulatory requirements for the fire and ammonia refrigeration systems.
  • Assure Sanitary Design Practices are implemented throughout the facility.
  • Insure compliance with fire and safety codes, company protocol and all applicable regulations.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with vendors, contractors, and other departments.
  • Oversee the maintenance and operation of facility refrigeration systems.
  • Monitor and oversee the plant environmental program, not limited to our zero waste program

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • MHE equipment related to racking storage systems, plumbing, mechanical, electrical and related systems.
  • HVAC and ammonia refrigeration systems, maintenance, operations, and B52 regulations.
  • Knowledge of parts room organization.
  • CMMS purchasing functions, time management, and asset organization
